I don't know if it will be useful or not but I was looking at using the stickykey/cmd trick on an XP machine and I could use that nircmd program to Have performed all tasks with the following result: Retry CD Recovery Repair: It ran the the same as prior repair attempts. However, I did find my XP Cd, so I may just install XP for now...
