The issue is almost always caused by your system not pointing to the right library. If it doesn't solve it, just do the following: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get dist-upgrade I didn't perform the "dist-upgrade" command, but the ones before Page 1 of 2 1 2 > Search this Thread 12-05-2007, 03:14 AM #1 babu198649 Member Registered: Oct 2007 Posts: 160 Rep: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required UbuntuCommunityAsk!DeveloperDesignDiscourseHardwareInsightsJujuShopMore ›AppsHelpForumLaunchpadMAASCanonical current community chat Ask Ubuntu Ask Ubuntu Meta your communities Sign up or log in to customize your list.

Bug#584572 I had a couple of unstable repositories in my apt sources file (which I have since removed) which I think may have caused the problem. There should be a folder called libstdc++.so.6 in the Anaconda library, which is here: ~/anaconda2/lib. Since you cannot, you'll need to do it by hand. Luckily I don'tthink they're related, since they use different copies of xulrunner.Attempts along the lines of "uninstall iceweasel, experiment, installiceweasel, experiment more" didn't get me anywhere.OK, just to be sure ;).Post
That is what step 1 means and what "I have removed~/.icedove since then" means.Given I am out of idea, I probably ask stupid questions... Installed "external editor" extension (manually, as anon-privileged user). I can say this issue is now resolved for me. On the other hand, if libc6 2.13 is already installed and icedoveis not, then installing and running icedove gives/usr/lib/icedove/icedove-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/icedove/components/libdbusservice.so: undefined symbol: NS_AllocCould you uninstall and reinstall icedove
The install seemed to go fine but afterwards not only did jigdo not work, but most of my other programs will not load either. I dist-upgraded this morning my system, and Icedove couldn't start.I downloaded Thunderbird 3.1.10 too, it crashed too with a Segmentation Fault (I don't know if it is due to the same etc. asked Sep 10 '13 at 11:...

Using -L to the path I was referencing gave warnings about "skipping incompatible libstdc++.so when searching for -lstdc++". So I just created a softlink/shortcut in the Anaconda library to the actual Linux library containing that GLIBCXX_3.4.20, replacing the previous one, and it worked fine after restarting the python GUI Re-installed the NVIDIA drivers and all worked well! 7-a. Only up to .19, the same as yours.
Upgraded libc6 to 2.13.x again. Downgraded libc6 to 2.11.x. Let's compare somedepencencies of which there are multiple versions available as of today,libdbus-1-3 and libnss3-1d. Most people experience the problem of having something too old, not too new Did you install the c++ libraries manually or via your distribution's GUI installer?
